Started in 2001, the Dot NAME universal TLD is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. At first, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to purchase john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level domains remained operational.

Through our company, you can buy your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to switch the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer code from the current registration service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no specific terms on who can buy a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the idea behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
