An electronic mailing list is a list of email addresses that get one and the same email message simultaneously. When you send an email message to the mailing list address, your message will be redirected to all the email addresses on that list automatically, but none of the receivers will learn who the rest of the recipients are. Generally, users have to register for a list, but occasionally mailboxes are added manually without the approval of their owners. Based on the particular mailing list administration software, you may also be able to include new subscribers, so users will not be able to subscribe to a mailing list unless you authorize their request.
