Ubuntu
Ubuntu - the Linux Distribution which started out small and has grown to be one of the most preferred OSes on the market. Find out more about its pros and cons.
Ubuntu is among the most widespread Linux editions for desktop machines, but the OS also has a server edition, which has been gaining popularity these days. Ubuntu is very fast and supports a variety of hardware components, so it can run on pretty much every computer without using an excessive amount of system resources. The OS is considered to be really reliable and secure, plus because of its popularity, you will find a number of sources online with information about any question or problem that you might have. The Long-Term Support (LTS) versions are supported for a minimum of 5 years, so you'll be able to get security patches without worrying about softwareproblems over time. Because Ubuntu is absolutely free to use, you're able to customize both its core and the thousands of additional software packages which you can download and install in any way you see fit, with no restrictions and without any license fees. This way, you can get a rapid, stable and powerful web hosting service and pay only the cost of the server.

Ubuntu in VPS Servers
With all of our
VPS servers, you'll be able to select the Ubuntu OS on the order page. We recognize the fact that some programs have certain requirements with regard to the OS they're installed on, and you are able to select between the 32-bit and the 64-bit edition of Ubuntu. In addition, you can choose if the VPS should feature our Hepsia Control Panel or no Control Panel at all. In the first case, you'll receive everything you need pre-installed - MySQL, e-mail server, FTP, etc. software, and you're able to make everything from your online browser, but the root access is restricted; whereas in the second case, you'll receive Ubuntu plus the Apache server software only, which means that you're able to set up anything freely thanks to the full root access that you will be given, yet the server management tasks can be performed using a console. Our administrators can watch your VPS and update the Ubuntu setup on a weekly basis if you add the optional Managed Services package which we offer.

Ubuntu in Dedicated Servers
Ubuntu is among the Operating System options which you'll find on our registration page in case you choose to acquire one of our
Linux dedicated servers. We'll install the 32-bit or the 64-bit release, to meet the system requirements of the apps which you intend to set up on the server. You may also choose the software that will run on your machine, due to the fact that we will set up only the Apache web server software, so all else can be tailor-made software of your liking. You will be able to set up the latter without problems from a Secure Shell console, because you'll get root-level access and you will have full control of the server. You are free to set up a website hosting Control Panel as well and control some things from a graphical interface, as long as it can work on an Ubuntu-driven machine. To make things simpler, we also supply a Managed Services upgrade, which, among other things, comes with Operating System updates.
